About "The Forerunner" - original liner notes by Rob Still

The ways of God are truly a mystery. H chose an old man, Abraham, to bless the entire human race. He chose a teenage girl, Mary, to bring His son into this world. He calls us to do His will in His way and by His timing. There are seasons when He calls us to "stay" and make a Kingdom difference where we are. Other times he calls us to "go" and radically change our lives so he can use us even more. He gives us the grace and ability to do His will in "due season", and these seasons change. God gave me a gift for worship ministry relatively late in life, but by the grace of God I am what I am.

In many ways it is quite a blessing to be a "nobody". John the Baptist was a nobody. His mission was to draw attention to the coming Messiah. So it is with my music. May the message of these songs lead others into the wonderful presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.

"The Forerunner" is my second worship CD released to the public. MOst of these songs were written around 1997-98. The record was produced during 1999 and finished in early 2000. We made a couple of tweaks and remastered the project in April of 2003.

Most of these songs were inspired by my experiences working with the youth or messages from Belmont Church during that time period. Many of the kids from my youth ministry at Belmont are featured on these recordings, including the studio debut of Miles McPherson and Bryan Willard (who were 16 and 17 at the time) and later went on to be the backup band for Matt Redman ("The Heart of Worship"). Most of the background vocals are from Kristina Owen and Trevor Mathiesen who were 17 and 18 at the tie and a big part of our youth worship team.

"A New Anointing (This Is The Day)" is included as a bonus track and is a preview from my next project "From The Wilderness ... A New Anointing". I've got about 4 more albums of material recorded but not yet finished. I hope to release them sooner than it took to get this one out!
