The Shema: A Call To Worship
"Hear O Israel, The Lord our God is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all of your heart, and with all of your mind, and with all of your soul, and with all your strength." Mark 12:29-31
This is a simple "call and response" song you can use at the beginning of your worship service. It's only about 1:00 minute long.
Jesus was quoting Deuteronomy 6:4, the Jewish invocation She'ma Israel , when he proclaimed this passage "the first and greatest commandment." Christian worship services do well to declare this weekly. When I lead worship, I usually begin with this call to worship.
