Lyrics

01 Psalm 42
For the worship leader. A maskil of the sons of Korah.

1 My soul is dry and thirsts for You, my God,
as a deer thirsts for water.
2 My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and see face and feel his comfort?
3 I am overwhelmed by sorrow and pain;
    I can’t stop crying.
 My enemies mock me, saying,
“Where is this God of yours? Why doesn’t he help you?
4 These things I remember
as I pour out my soul:
How I used to lead the worship of the people in procession to the house of God
under the protection of the Mighty One
with shouts of joy and praise
    among the festive throng.
5 Why are you in despair, O my soul?
And why have you become so disturbed within me?

11 So I say to my soul,
“Don’t be downcast
Don’t be discouraged.
Don’t be disturbed.
Put your my hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
    my Savior and my God.
